Democracy Canvass - Step 1 - Basics

What You Will Need to Bring

1. Get a clipboard

2. Print out 1 copy of the data gathering sheet.

3. print out 1 copy of both polls

  • Corporate Power poll - general questions about aspects of corporate personhood.
  • Community Rights Poll - focus on the actual actions where corporate power is used to overrule the rights of people and communities; more of a recruiting poll.

4. print out 1 copy of the activity tracking sheet and cut out 1 section

Dress casually. A polo shirt and jeans is fine. Look nice so people will want to open their doors and talk to you!

Don't wear any political t-shirts or hats or anything like that. You want to have a chance to talk with everyone, so you don't want to turn them off when they are looking out their door hole thing at you.

We are not going out to propagandize - we are going out to engage and listen.

Best times to go out:

Saturdays & Sundays: any time between 11am and 4pm

Mondays - Fridays: 6-8pm (when people are home)

June Canvass Campbell MONTH!

The first week of July, the Campbell City Council will be voting on a resolution supporting the Move to Amend proposed 28th Amendment.

We need to gather data about what the people of Campbell actually think about these issues (the poll) and gather signatures of those who want their City Council representatives to support this Amendment.

Our goal is to gather 500 signatures of Campbell residents to bring to the Campbell CIty Council vote.

We will be going out the following days and times. Please join us!

Wednesday June 13th 6-8:30 pm

Saturday, June 16th, 11am-2pm

Wednesday June 20th 6-8:30 pm

Saturday, June 23rd, 11am-2pm

Wednesday June 27th 6-8:30 pm

Saturday, June 30th, 11am-2pm

We we will meet at Orchard Valley Coffee (349 E. Campbell Ave. in downtown Campbell) before we go out for training and to decide where we will go out; and after to gather the polls and signature cards.
